Exploring Christianity and Culture in China: Today and Yesterday
A COLLABORATIVE PUBLIC LECTURE SERIES HOSTED BY THE USCCA, CHINASOURCE, AND CHINA ACADEMIC CONSORTIUM
As Christians we are united by the gospel and learn from one another’s witness.
The speaker series is frequently held as in-person and on-line events.
We seek to hold multiple events each year:
• To shine a spotlight on the way that China and the West have contributed to one another’s mutual well-being and to underscore the inadequacy of narratives, increasingly common in our day, that serve only to polarize.
• To provide positive opportunities to understand on a deeper level the cultural exchange between China and the West.
• To highlight the important role of Christianity in this exchange, both historically and in our day, a reality which is sometimes neglected due to the secular nature of the West and a tendency in China to mix foreign religion with politics.
