A Catholic Pilgrimage in a Changing China

The USCCA is dedicated to dialogue and mutual understanding. In light of our mission we conduct this pilgrimage to build bonds of friendship with all the people we meet, as well as to provide an opportunity to learn about the inspiring story of the Catholic community in China first-hand. People who participate in this Pilgrimage agree to do so in the spirit of our mission and to contribute to a positive experience for all group members.

Dates and further steps
February 1: Application deadline for second-round decision.
February 2: Acceptance notification for second-round decision.
February 10: $500 per person deposit (non-refundable after February 15).
February 15: Email a copy of your U.S. passport.
Deposit and passport are necessary so that we can book your travel within China.
If the pilgrimage has openings after the second round of applications, you may apply after February 1. Then you will be notified of your acceptance within 2 days of applying.
March 15: Unless other arrangements have been made, total amount due.
March 15: Confirmed travel arrangements to Beijing due.
Please note: We understand that plans do change. While we will try to accommodate unanticipated changes, failure to adhere to the above deadlines could lead to forfeiture of your place in the program and/or of your deposit.
Tuesday, April 23: Arrival time in Beijing by 4 PM at the latest.
Thursday, May 2: Date of departure from Beijing (or later, if you decide to stay on).

Chinese Visa
If you do not already have a tourist visa for China, you should begin the application process for one once you receive notification of your acceptance. The current Chinese Visa application form is available here.

NOTE: You must apply for a Tourist Visa to China.
Applying for a visa to China can be a bit tricky. Many people have their visa application for China rejected, sometimes for very technical reasons. If you would like assistance with the application process, our travel agent can shepherd that process for a reasonable fee. For visa assistance click here.
Transit to Beijing
Note that traveling to Beijing from the United States involves crossing the international dateline. When doing so you lose an entire calendar day. Take this into account when booking your flight.

If you would like to participate in the Witnesses to the Faith Pilgrimage, please follow these steps:
1. Carefully review the information on this pilgrimage provided on our website. That information can also be found on a downloadable Pilgrimage Info Sheet.
2. Fill in the Pilgrimage Application and email to USCCA.StudyTours@GMail.com
Deadline for second-round decision is February 1. It there is space available after that date, we may continue to accept applica-tions. Inquiries welcome. If you need a decision before February 1, you may request expedited review of your application.
